It’s amazing what you see if, like me, your eyes are always wandering and you’re a bit of a nosey parker.
Just five minutes ago, I was returning to the office after a much needed Starbucks break, and around a corner, under the railway arches, I spied a rather lovely image of a white horse. Out came my Blackberry ( what did we do without cameras on phones? ) and here it is.
On further inspection, there was a website address next to it, and I duly got in touch. Turns out that the horse was commissioned by Sky 3D, for a show they’re currently filming on British landscapes. Graffiti Life ( who look like a brilliant group of artists, and have cleverly tapped into the trend for street and graffiti art ) who made the image, were asked to create a horse in an urban landscape, as during filming for the show, the Sky crew noticed that equestrian images kept popping up all over the country. The idea is that this urban horse will be juxtaposed with the famous chalk horses in Uffington and Westbury. A bit of town and country, both very different, but with recurring themes that all contribute to making Britain.
The show will air on Sky Atlantic in the summer – we’re still trying to find out what it’s called ( if anyone knows, please tell us.)
