One of the most iconic garments, the men’s evening tux, is currently being de-constructed, measured, cut and put back together on fashion film website SHOWstudio.
Ritchie Charlton, joint owner of Mount Street tailors Hayward – who have dressed the likes of Steve McQueen and Michael Caine – shows, through live streaming, the step-by-step guide to creating Le Smoking. And this particular jacket is for lead singer of Primal Scream, Bobby Gillespie.
Today is the final opportunity to see Ritchie at work, and engage with what really goes into creating a fine-fitting, sharp suit. It goes some way to debunking the myth of fashion, taking us behind the scenes and looking at the talent and hard work that drives what many see as a frothy industry.
