Sometimes, there’s nothing better than going to a normal pub, drinking a pint of beer and listening to an old-fashioned band doing the rounds of the circuit. No fancy gimmicks, no DJ, no funny haircuts.
And one of the most respected pub music venues in London is the now legendery Half Moon in Putney, which has played host to The Rolling Stones, The Who, U2, Bo Diddley as well as the next big thing.
And tomorrow native New Yorker of Italian heritage and a child prodigy cellist, Francis Rodino plays a night there. He survived a solid classical music education in both the US and Italy, before being bitten by the Rock ‘n’ Roll bug and arriving in London as a guitar playing singer/songwriter. Paying his dues and honing his writing and performing skills on the London club and pub scene, Francis built up a powerful live presence – with his band of some of the capital’s finest rock musicians – resulting in a solid and loyal fanbase. His Facebook page is at www.facebook.com/francisrodinomusic
If you want a proper night of rock’n’ roll, and a decent pint, look no further.
Take a look at his appearance at the Paradiso in Amsterdam:
Francis Rodino plays The Half Moon, Lower Richmond Road, Putney, London on Thursday 28th July. Tickets are £5 on the door or £4 in advance from ticketweb
