What does one of London’s most creative night outs have on offer in the new year?
At the beginning of this month, Secret Cinema launched its 17th production, it’s most ambitious run to date, selling more than an impressive 6,000 tickets in 1 day, and 10,000 in 1 week. Following this crazed reaction, the December run completely sold out. Undoubtedly word of mouth has created such a buzz around Secret Cinema that they have now become one of the most-popular London events around. There is almost something cult-ish about its success. They seem to have captured the imagination of not only movie fans but those who were yearning for something new to do in the big smoke – the sneaky nature also offering an extra buzz and welcome sense of suspense. Attendees also seem to enjoy having an excuse to indulge in a bit of dressing up as well!
In order to meet the demands of their loyal and dedicated audience, Secret Cinema announced 20 more performances in 2012 from 1st – 22nd January. Taking place in an unknown central London location, the journey and experience will be operatic in scale. Culture Compass will be attending the press preview, so keep your eyes peeled for more insight into the new years events.
