A bloody great cause….
It feels like everyone thinks of themselves as a bit of a photographer these days, but how about you put your talent and vision the test and let a photography legend pass judgement on your captured image. Alongside the glamourous Sadie Frost and the equally glam Boy George, who are both hearty supporters of The Hep C Trust and the Get Tested campaigns,
Rankin is calling upon talented photographers to submit their work in a competition which will see victors exhibited at Urban in Ibiza’s London location, West Bank Gallery in Westbourne Grove.
The winning photograph will then be auctioned at Pete Tong’s International Music Summit in Ibiza on May 23 at their star-studded legends dinner with the proceeds going to The Hepatitis C Trust.
The only restriction or rule to you submitted image is that blood has to factor in some way. This is hardly a restriction though, stylistically it can whatever is your preference, whether it be literal, abstract, metaphorical or darn right peculiar.
As well as the overwhelming prestige of being the chosen winner, the talent behind the number 1 image will also receive 2 tickets to The International Music Summit in Ibiza.
Closing date for Entries is Thursday April 9 2012
Photographs must be at least 300 dpi to be able to blow up to A1 size and sent to media@hepctrust.org.uk
This is collaboration between Get Tested!, Urban in Ibiza and The International Music Summit. Winner announced end of April.
Sadie Frost says, “Everyone has the opportunity to take great photos with the technology around today. Blood is an interesting theme, as it will make people think about what an unknown quantity blood can be, and help raise vital awareness of hepatitis C. We look forward to receiving some exciting entries’

About hepatitis C
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne virus that predominantly infects the cells of the liver. If left untreated, the virus can cause cirrhosis, liver cancer and death. There is no vaccine but early treatment can successfully clear the virus in around half of patients and ongoing infection can be managed.
The Health Protection Agency estimate that there are around 250,000 hepatitis C positive people in the UK although some estimates put this number as high as 466,000. Only around 70,000 people in England and Wales have been diagnosed.
