We live globally and now more than ever, with the internet, mobile and social media we know exactly what’s going on in our world. Our leaders are, and should be, scrutinised, questioned and held to account. But what’s it really like to have that weight of responsibility? The first in a series of landmark documentaries, The Price of Kings – Yasser Arafat, looks at the cost of leadership.
We’re delighted to have two pairs of tickets to giveaway to the London premier at Cineworld, Haymarket on Tuesday 13th March.
The Spirit Level Film production looks at the sacrifices made and the ultimate price paid, both personally and politically in order to lead a nation.
Branded as a corrupt terrorist and liar by many, Yasser Arafat is an iconic figure to others – either way, his importance as a world leader is undeniable. As the only President in the world without a fully recognised nation state, he unified the Palestinian people as a revolutionary leader whilst struggling to forge them a country. The film uncovers the legacy of a man who fought to bring peace and an end to one of the world’s most stubborn conflicts; a goal he was unable to realise within his own lifetime. The film features an exclusive interview with his widow, Suha Arafat, who talks for the first time about her life married to a revolutionary leader.
