We’re very proud to say that another one of our talented contributors has published a book.* Oggy Yordanov is a London-based photographer whose new tome, New Club Kids, documents the avante-garde club scene in London. Fashion pioneers and true trendsetters; take a sneak peek at their trailblazing looks here….
New Club Kids is a collection of over 300 visually challenging photographs documenting the “London Club-Kid” scene throughout the past decade. With their strong fashion sense and ‘do-it-yourself’ attitude, these party animals have set many a new trend in the past and continue to do so, hence it was necessary that one day someone should pay respect to this truly unique London phenomenon.
Started in the late 70s with the New Romantics and carried on through the 80s and 90s in clubs like Taboo and Kinky Gerlinky, the dressing-up scene had gone quiet at the start of the new Millennium. Then suddenly, it was revived, and as we can see from these images, it’s thriving today.
Fashion has always walked hand in hand with music and London has a rich history of dressing up. Fabulous, trashy, glamorous, beautiful, scary… meet the New London Club Kids.
